Katie Ellwood is a London-based cinematic media composer, cellist, and recording artist writing music for film, television, and games. Blending orchestral composition with electronic textures and immersive sound design, her work is driven by emotion, atmosphere, and storytelling. Her music combines expressive string writing, contemporary production, and hybrid soundscapes, creating emotionally resonant scores across narrative-driven media.

Katie has also contributed to the music departments of several major studio productions, working across roles including composer’s assistant, music editor, and recording engineer. She has collaborated with acclaimed composers including Martin Phipps, Segun Akinola, and Adiescar Chase, supporting the creative and technical development of large-scale scoring projects across television and film.

Alongside composing, Katie records cello for studio productions and collaborative projects, contributing performances to productions including Untouched (Netflix), Hijack (Apple TV), Falling (Channel 4), The Crow

Girl, Coma (ITV), and the BAFTA-winning Rock Paper Scissors. She enjoys collaborating with other composers through her love for the cello.

Recent credits include Falling (2026) as Composer Assistant and Music Editor, Bergerac (2026) as Composer Assistant and Music Editor, Kingdoms (BBC) as Composer Assistant, Ach, diese Lücke, diese entsetzliche Lücke as Composer Assistant.
